kentucky

Kentucky, authoritatively the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the east south-central region of the United States. It is one of four U.S. states constituted as a commonwealth while the other three are Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.

It is also home to the highest per capita number of deer and turkey in the United States. The largest free-ranging elk herd east of the Mississippi River, and the nation’s most productive coalfield.

Do you know for what the state is well known throughout the world? It is known for horse racing, bourbon distilleries, automobile, tobacco, bluegrass music, college basketball, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Oh, fried chicken is loved by all. Many tourist travels to this place just to enjoy food.

The state also occupies many colleges and educational institutions for gaining higher education. After finishing up with your graduates and post graduation, you can give a start to your career in teaching with you interest. It is really beneficial and found to be fruitful to merge up you in teaching.

What are the required steps to obtain your teaching credential?

Like anything in life, the more prepared you are, the better. To achieve your teaching credential you will have to complete the appropriate amount of undergraduate coursework and standardized tests, as well as an accredited certification program.

It issues three levels of certification:

· Rank III is the provisional certificate issued to new teachers with a Bachelor’s degree.

· Rank II requires completing a Master’s degree or at least 32 semester hours of graduate credit.

· Rank I requires 60 semesters of graduate credit, which may include the Master’s degree.

· Teachers must also be certified for the grade level and/or subject areas in which they plan to teach.

The enthusiast of Teach Kentucky has high expectations for the participants both in the quality of their contribution as teachers, and in their impact.

What are the prerequisite coursework and tests required?

First of all, you need at least a Bachelor’s degree to teach. The prerequisite to teach Elementary School (Grades 1-6) have need of coursework in all subject areas taught in Elementary School.

It requires that Middle School (Grades 5-9) teachers have a major in either English, Math, Social Studies, or Science, with a major being equivalent to 30 semester hours of coursework.

Secondary School (Grades 8-12) teachers are required to have a 30 credit hour major in their desired area of study. Specialty subject areas such as music and art may have additional specific requirements.

The most of the states require tests to show competency in Basic Skills as well as in the desired Subject Area. It uses the PPST (Pre Professional Skills Test) for Basic Skills and both the Praxis II: Subject Tests and Praxis II PLT (Principles of Learning and Teaching) test for Subject Area competence.

So you need to pass these both the examination. For more detailed information, visit the following websites http://www.ets.org/praxis/about/fees and http://certificationmap.com/states/kentucky-teacher-certification/.
